Camping Out December 2010
During December we walked the forest and surrounding areas and started planning how we were going to lay out the farm. Realising we wouldn't be able to build any permanent structures on the property before the transfer was through or even for a while after that (needed to build up some cash reserves again) we decided to buy a tent for our overnight stays on weekends. We also bought two little grass slashers to clear our campsite and for hacking down some of the invader weeds.
Comfortable camping with more firewood than we can ever use

What we didn't realise was that there was such amazing wild flowers and birdlife in the area. We took lots of photos on our walks and our book library needed to be expanded - mammals, birds, wild flowers, grasses, insects, trees and even some speciality books: dragonflies, frogs and bees.
